Dr. Charles D. Flagle, a renowned professor at the Bloomberg School of Public Health, passed away on September 4th. His work pioneered the application of managerial and mathematical techniques to the field of public health. Flagle was also a salesman and sold gymnasium seating before pursuing his doctorate. Alumni and friends of Flagle’s devoted service to the School have set up a fund to honor his memory.
The family of Dr. Flagle includes his daughter Judith E. Anderson, son Douglas A. Flagle and stepdaughter Elizabeth D. Stephens, all of Baltimore, as well as nine grandchildren .He was predeceased by his wife, Janet .you Flagle, and his eldest son, C. Lawrence Flagle. His wife Lois H. Flagle died in 2006.
